Zodiac

I'm sure everyone has heard that the new movie, Zodiac is over 2 hours long. The length of this movie was not very appealing. It is usually very hard to sit through a movie of that length. However, if the movie is entertaining and is this length, it is a pleasure. I had heard mixed reviews of Zodiac from friends. Most people that I talked to told me to wait for the DVD. On Thursday, I spoke to a friend that I share my Law and Order obsession with. She told me that she had seen Zodiac, the night before and it was great. I finally made up my mind that this was a movie I wanted to see. My boyfriend and I went out on Saturday and ran a few errands. We decided to catch a matinee. The movie was really good. Or at least I thought so, my boyfriend feel asleep after the first hour. Perhaps, I thought so highly of the movie because I love to watch crime dramas. Of course, the movie moved a little slowly but, there were many facts that were crucial to the story. This movie spans several decades and a lot of information. I also found it very appealing that the movie took place in the Bay Area. The characters in the movie were also fun to watch. Zodiac the movie is basically about the Zodiac murders in California. These murders took place in the 1960's and 1970's. I thought that Jake Gyllenhaal did a great job as an obsessed aspiring author. When I got home I recommended this movie to my Aunt, who is also a crime drama junkie. Anyone, who enjoys watching programs like, Law and Order, Crossing Jordan or CSI, would most likely enjoy this movie. I found a review of this film on Rotten Tomatoes. Check it out.

I haven't seen zociac yet but I love jake glyenhall. I have loved him since Donnie Darko. Bubble boy is also very funny.

I say Robert Downey Jr. can have as many drugs as he wants as long as he keeps putting out amazing work. Have you seen Two Girls and a Guy. For my money that is his best work yet. The scenes where his just by himself. Awe can explain in writing..

Rhianna, I'm finally posting on your blog! Anyway, I saw Zodiac on the first day it came out. The movie was really crazy. The killer was very clever...I mean it took so long for Jake Glyenhall's character to realize who he is. What was weird though was the almost obsession that Jake Glyenhall's character had surrounding the case. I mean...his marriage and his position as a father basically became 2nd to this case. Another thing...its unfortunate that the supposed killer had a heart attack before they had time to prosecute him. I talked to my mom about the movie and she said that everyone in the Bay Area was terrified. An article in the SF Gate talks more about it.

I haven't seen this movie yet but I don't think I'll be running to the theaters to see it. Too much hype maybe. I mean I guess it's because the movie is based on a true story that took place right here in the Bay Area, so there might have been more ads placed in San Francisco than anywhere else in the country. Too much advertising usually turns me off. All over the buses, billboards, subway stations, front page of the Chronicle, and scrolling text at the Metreon saying."He could be sitting right next to you." Too much, ya know?

I'm not huge on the crime drama stuff but occasionally will get sucked into something on A&E called Cold Case Files, in which they go in-depth about murders that took place years ago. If you don't watch it already, you should.

Yeah, I don't think movies should ever be that long. There are lots of movies that are though. You have all the Lord of the Rings movies for example! I'm probably the only human being on Earth that hates that movie. I thought the first one was incredibly boring and loooooooong. Then again, I'm not a big fan of fantasy movies to begin with. But I can watch some fantasy movies... just not really long ones. Needless to say, I stayed away from LOR two and three.

Same goes for Titanic and the Departed. In this case I liked both movies though, but they are just too long.

I have also heard mixed reviews about Zodiac; however I want to definitely watch it. It would be cool to watch a based in the Bay Area.
Oh and I agree with the other comments that Robert Downey Jr., is an awesome actor.
If you’re into crime/mystery programs I recommend The First 48, on A&E. It is based on real crimes, and detective’s ability to solve within the first 48 hours.
